NGC Comment: If you always wanted a Kashmir but couldn't afford one, this may be your rock. One carat Kashmir sapphires are more difficult to obtain than 2 carat Kashmir's, not that any Kashmir is easy to locate, since they haven't been mined since the 1920's! This world class Kashmir possesses a "robin's egg" blue and perfect tone. Unlike many Kashmir blue sapphires, this stone is not blue/black or 85-90 tone. Also, the stone is clean at LI2 clarity with ultra high 90-100% brilliancy. This is an old stone so the cutting/finish and depth is typical of Kashmirs. The ultimate soft velvety blue carat sized Kashmir. A serious collector rock or would look fantastic mounted in jewelry.
