DescriptionA rare red to purple "color shift" Madagascar garnet. This stone is very large. Most of this material is rarely over 4 carats. The red is similar to a light red spinel or ruby and the purple is similar to a Rhodolite Garnet. Some dealers may call this stone a "color change" garnet, but we believe "color shift" is more accurate. Whatever the name, this stone is ultra-rare. The gemstone is extremely clean at LI clarity. The stone has the high brilliancy and very good cutting and finish. Of course, these garnets are not enhanced. An interesting gemstone to collect or a different stone to mount in jewelry since the production of this material has practically ceased.

Please note when viewing high quality gemstones on the net there are certain limitations: Most monitors display images at varying dots per inch (dpi) and are not color-corrected. GIF and JPEG formats compromise quality. Internet browsers can only "see" 216 of 256 colors. Since every system, browser, and monitor is different, we don't know if what you and we see are the same.
